after recommendations from a friend, i just ordered 4 pairs of glasses from teh interwebs, costing far less than the 1 pair bought last year
just realized: pronghorn season starts in 5 days & we’ll be hunting Saturday. I’m nervous, but probably as ready to hunt as i’ll ever be.
:buying what is probably the last box of Winchester 270 in town, & then only because I noticed it was misplaced on the shelf & requested it.
just saw a truck belonging to the Seabees (Navy Construction Battalion). Trivia: Ward Cleaver was a Seabee. Look it up :)
got a flu shot on the way back from the range. feel yucky. bed early.
also: looking at David Macauley’s Motel of the Mysteries. Possibly the funniest book about archaeology *ever* Check it out.
snowstorm up on Pikes Peak. The Thunderbirds are in a tight formation overhead. Happy Friday :D
me: first time w/ the 270 @ 50 yards in the wind: 3 inch grouping. yay! my arms hurts like Hell, though.
2 hours of screaming 3YO later, we have determined 1) She is not in charge. 2). We are in charge, but just barely, since she out-screams us.
knitting a scarf. the yarn i’m knitting with calls for size 9 or 11 needles; i’m boldly using size 13. i’m livin’ on the cutting edge, baby!
Formulating a recipe to suit everyones various needs & wants. Thus, making a low-sugar, crust-less, gluten-free pumpkin pie. Recipe later.
dinner:Chicken Parmesan w/ smoked ham & fresh mozzarella, (no bread crumbs), GF bread sticks, & fresh cooked spinach w/cider vinegar. Yummy!
knitting on the patio w/J, pumpkin latté & a view of the snow-capped Rockies. Happy Thursday.
My tiny cat Mar-Belles is waiting, meowing reproachfully, wanting me to shut down so that she can curl up & sleep. Best obey the sweet kitty

Today,on the very last day of summer, it’s snowing. The cats, who know these things in advance, piled on the bed last night, seeking warmth.

pinning the last of 4 dresses for the 3YO. Next: finishing pair of kitchen curtains. Still feel bad, but sewing helps forget it for a while.

walked back from a friend’s house to see her newly painted bedroom (mint green w/ cream & brown fabrics). Still have a headache & feel icky.
